Goals

The graying of America brings a population that must cope with the management of multiple illnesses. Often those illnesses restrict activity, reduce independence, and erode the capacity for the elderly to avoid the complications of immobility. Providing this population realistic management options that improve quality, dignity, and comfort is the primary goal of F.R.A.I.L.

Specific Goals:

Define affected adult population.

Determine this population's prevalence within extended care facilities in the U.S.A.

Establish realistic management options that address the complications of immobility.

Develop palliative management guidelines for the spectrum of complications related to immobility.

Educate the healthcare industry about the unique treatment and management objectives established to benefit the F.R.A.I.L. population.
